I am very proud and honoured to be the new Chairman of Indo-American Chamber of Commerce – Karnataka Branch. I have been a member of IACC for many years, have served on governing council for 3 years and recognise the important role the Chamber fulfils towards our members. Today, Karnataka leads in membership base and I would like to thank the past leaderships for their commendable efforts in driving value to our members. I hope to continue the legacy and strive to meet your expectations along with the support of a team of formidable business leaders on my Board.
IACC has come a long way since it was formed in 1967 and throughout this time, it has grown and developed into the organisation it is today. This has required the Chamber and its members to constantly adapt to changes within the industry, technology and the wider economy without losing sight of its original aim – “To be the principal bilateral chamber committed to the promotion of industrial, economic, business and commercial activities between the United States of America and India”.
In the coming years, we will all continue to face many challenges, in particular the current economic climate and the geo-political shift of powers across the globe influenced by decisions made by the US. If we are to survive and prosper, the Chamber will need to continue to be innovative, proactive and develop relevant and exciting events. In order to maintain the strength of the IACC brand; the Chamber needs to continue to move forward, be aware of its environment and broaden the offerings, to listen to our members and key players in the industry.
After much deliberation within and reaching out to our members, we have laid out a framework of engagements that will form as an overarching platform for the events we plan to host.
I would like to thank our Corporate and Individual members and sponsors for their continued support and acknowledge the invaluable input of Council members in achieving the aims of the Chamber. I would also like to pay tribute to the IACC office team for their invaluable support.
I am delighted to announce that Mohan Rajamani has accepted to be Sr. Vice Chairman during my term of office. We plan to attend many events and look forward to meeting members to hear your views on what we do well, where we need to improve and your thoughts and ideas on how the Chamber should move forward. We are also keen to hear your success stories, if any. How IACC helped.
In summary, I believe that The Indo-American Chamber of Commerce has an influential voice within the industry and together we can look forward to a challenging but rewarding future.
