N. V. SRINIVASAN (Managing Partner in NVS & Associates, Advocates & Legal Consultants)
Having incorporated transformational changes as a former Director, employee Relations at ANZ Grindlays Bank, N. V. Srinivasan currently runs a legal firm with branches in various parts of India.
As a successful consultant and practicing lawyer in India, Srinivasan has over 40 years of domestic and International experience and has incorporated revolutionary methodologies for effective business & legal solutions across industries. His experience over three decades in the Banking Industry has marked him as a well informed and competent lawyer involving commercial trade and finance and he has been on the Board of the Negotiating Committee and Personnel Committee of the Indian Bank Association, an Apex body of the Banking Industry in India. Being on the Negotiating Committee of the Apex body of Banking industry, he has successfully negotiated the terms and conditions of service of Bank employees in the country. He has also successfully participated in the Pension Arbitration on an all India basis. His specialty also includes providing advice in the context of corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, takeovers, labor, factoring, derivatives & foreign exchange and structuring of deals.
Srinivasan has been retained as a legal consultant by a number of large international corporations and Private and Public Sector Banks and financial institutions in India and abroad. His firm has recovered several 1000 Crores for various individuals, banks and financial institutionsinDRT, DRAT, High Courts, Supreme Court of India and Arbitrations and has been successfully serving Indian and International clients through various litigatory, de-litigatory and non-litigatory mechanisms.
Among other achievements, he has revised a premier book on Banking (Tannan’s Banking Law & Practice in India), 25th Edition 2014, published by Lexis Nexis as its Revising Author, which was released by Supreme Court Judges Hon’ble Justice Mr. A. K. Patnaik and Hon’ble Justice Mr. F.M.I. Kalifulla.
Srinivasan has vast experience in litigation and has handled a plethora of cases on various legal subjects and makes regular appearances before various High Courts and Tribunals across the country and the Supreme Court of India. He has provided effective solutions for critical issues of law for domestic and international companies, and believes in offering holistic legal solutions aligned with their business strategies.
Srinivasan has vast exposure in Commercial Laws, Conveyancing, Company Laws, Commercial Arbitration, Banking and Finance, Transfer of Property Act, Intellectual Property Rights, Cyber Laws and Organizational Restructuring, Employee Management and many other areas.
His proficiency in behavioural sciences along with his legal expertise and strategic outlook has made him instrumental in developing appropriate solutions for his domestic and international clients in terms of compliance management, outsourcing initiatives, legal issues, global mobility management, training, policy planning and management, business process re- engineering, performance appraisal development and management and career planning, recruitment and selection, collective bargaining and negotiations and has diligently and passionately assisted and transformed numerous employees and organisations for greater efficiency and performance.
Recently, as the Regional President of IACC (South India), he had put up his points for the attention of the government with regard to improving the rank of ease of doing business at the National Conclave held at Hyderabad, before the Hon’ble Union Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh.
