Awarded Doctor of Laws (LL. D.) Honoris Causa by Jaipur University in 2013
He was awarded Honorary Membership of the IBA in Melbourne in 1994 for outstanding service to the legal profession.
He was awarded the Plaque of Honour by the Prime Minister of India in 2002 for outstanding contribution to the Rule of Law.
In 2007, the President of India presented the National Law Day Award to Lalit Bhasin for “Outstanding Contribution to the Development of the Legal Profession in India and for his deep involvement and engagement in the maintenance of the highest standards at the Bar”.
Lalit Bhasin started his law practice in 1962 and has developed Bhasin & Co. as one of the largest law Firms in North India. His areas of specialization include Aviation, Employment & Labour Laws, Corporate Law (Formation of Joint Venture Companies, Foreign Collaborations, Amalgamations, Mergers, Acquisitions, Disinvestment); Laws relating to Information Technology; Contract and Conveyancing; Sports Law; Entertainment & Media Laws; Constitutional Law; Banking and Finance; Consumer Protection Laws; Disputes relating to Foreign Investment e.g. Shareholders Agreements,
Collaboration Agreements, Agency and Distribution Agreements, Technology Transfer Agreements and Dispute Resolution Practice.

Mr. Sunder Advani is the Executive Vice President of IACC. Mr. Advani is Chairman & Managing Director of Advani Hotels & Resorts (India) Limited which owns and operates the 5-Star Deluxe “Caravela Beach Resort Goa”.
He completed his Bachelors and Masters in Business Administration in Philadelphia from Temple University and the Wharton School. He worked in the U.S. for 10 years including as an Economist / Management Consultant in Washington DC where he prepared studies for the U.S. Economic Development Administration, U.S. Bureau of Mines, Lockheed and other clients. He also worked as a Regional Planner in New Jersey and for Rutgers University Bureau of Economic Research. In 1971 he obtained a franchise from Holiday Inns Inc., to develop the Holiday Inn Juhu beach in Bombay. Having secured a Master Franchise for South Asia from Holiday Inns USA, he assisted potential owners to develop Holiday Inn, Agra (now Taj View), Holiday Inn, Chennai (now Crowne Plaza) and Holiday Inn, Colombo.
From 1970 to 1989, he was the Chairman & Managing Director of Hotel Airport Plaza at Bombay Airport (now known as Hotel Orchid).
From 1983 until 1998, he developed hotels in South Asia on behalf of Ramada Inc. USA. He was responsible in creating the Ramada Palmgrove, Mumbai, Ramada Chennai (now Trident), Ramada Hyderabad and Ramada Renaissance in Colombo. In 1990, he promoted the Renaissance Goa Resort as a franchise with equity from Ramada Inc. Mr. Advani was the Chairman of India’s only live “Casino Caravela” from 2001.
He has been a speaker at conferences in Las Vegas, Macao, Singapore, New Delhi and Mumbai.
Mr. Advani is also the Chairman of World Travel & Tourism Council (India Initiative), a think tank for the hospitality, aviation and travel industry.
