IACC AP & TS is organizing the Interactive Session on “US Tax Reform and Recent Wayfair Decision” in association with KNAV as our Knowledge Partner on 27th June 2019 from 4.00 pm to 6.30 pm at Hotel Daspalla in Vishakhapatnam with Hi-Tea.

The objective of organizing this important session is to disseminate information and awareness about the following two topics:

Topic 1: Grow your business in US (45 min) : For many, America is the land of dreams. It is the land of equal opportunities where you have an excellent chance of building up a good business and sustaining it through the years. The Government is highly supportive; the US is listed among the top best places in the world in terms of ease of doing business, and has a quality of life index which is higher than in many other countries of the world.

Mr. Kartik Mehta, Senior Manager at the Business Advisory Group of KNAV will share his experience on doing business in the US and focus on growth and value unlocking.

Topic 2: US tax considerations for Indian MNCs in light of US tax reform and Wayfair decision (75 min): More than a year has gone by since the enactment of the US Tax Reforms, through the Tax Cuts & Jobs Acts (TCJA). Even as Indian MNCs with US operations are absorbing the varied impact of the TCJA, uncertainty continues to prevail over several of the key provisions. In the midst of the chaotic changes in federal taxes, the US Supreme Court handed down the landmark Wayfair decision, which has led to a sea change in the nexus standards for sales & use tax from physical to economic nexus. With the US Supreme Court’s decision in Wayfair, inbound non-US companies and/or their US subsidiaries are now faced with potential collection and filing responsibilities in states with US customers.

Mr. Shishir Lagu, Partner, KNAV and Mr. Kavit Sanghvi, Manager, KNAV will share insights on the guidance provided by the IRS on the TCJA as well as share key practical considerations of the impact on inbound activities of Indian MNCs, outbound CFCs of US multinationals and the far reaching consequences of the Wayfair decision.
