It is a privilege to serve as the Chairman of the Varanasi Desk of the Indo American Chamber of Commerce. Our branch stands at the crossroads of tradition and innovation, promoting robust business ties and cultural exchange between India and the United States.

Varanasi holds the distinguished honor of having the highest number of Geographical Indication (GI) tagged products in the world, with its exquisite sarees and carpets being among the most renowned. These GI-tagged products reflect the rich cultural heritage and unparalleled craftsmanship of our region, contributing significantly to the local economy and global trade.

In this transformative era, our focus remains on fostering sustainable economic growth, supporting our members with valuable networking opportunities, and facilitating knowledge sharing that contributes to the overall development of the region. About National Capital Region (NCR)

Varanasi Branch of Indo-American Chamber of Commerce was inaugurated on 9^th February, 1990 at Hotel Clarks Varanasi with 20 founder members. Ever since from the time of inception, our Chamber has been getting support from U.S. Embassy from time to time as senior officials have been visiting and addressing the members at least on annual basis.

Indo-American Chamber of Commerce is the only bilateral Chamber of Commerce focused on the US. IACC has been serving its members for over three decades. Headquartered at Mumbai, the members are serviced through fourteen offices spread all over the country – IACC, Varanasi being one of them.

Our Branch was inaugurated by H.E. Mr. William Clark Jr. in 1990. Since then, we had the honour of hosting H.E. Mr. Frank Wisner, HE Mr. Mathew Daley and HE Mr. Ashley Wills, HE Mr. Robert Blake, Charge ‘d’affairs Mr. Richard Hanrahan, Visa Counselor Mr. Carmine D’ Aloisio, Minister Counselor for Commercial Affairs, Mr. Peter G. Kaestner, Minister Counselor for Consular Affairs and Consul General, Mr. James Callahan, Mr. Samuel Kidder, Mr. John Nay, Mr. Robert Schmidt (all Minister Counselors) Mr. William Bartlet, Consul General and his wife, Mr. John Peters, Minister-Counselor for Commercial Affairs, Mr. Donald Nay, Deputy Commercial Counselor, Ms. Robin Diallo, Ms. Corol Kim, Mr. Lesslie Viguerie, Deputy Political Counselor, Mr. Peter Eisenhauer, First Secretary, Cultural Affairs, Ms. Nicole Weber, Economic officer, Mr. Richard Silver, Consular officer and many more. The Officials have been Chief Guests on our Annual Days in the past and also visited our Chamber on Various other occasions. Public Affairs and Commercial Sections of the Embassy have been supporting our events from time to time by sending speakers to interact with our members, representatives of business community and eminent citizen of Varanasi. H. E. Mr. Timothy J. Roemer, US Ambassador to India, as Chief Guest on our Annual Day on 30 August, 2010 & H.E. Mrs. Nancy J. Powell, US Ambassador to India, as Chief Guest on our Annual Day on 26^th July, 2012. UP Branch of Indo-American Chamber of Commerce organized an Interactive meeting with H E Richard Rahul Verma, U.S. Ambassador to India on 17^th December, 2015. UP Branch Varanasi organized an interactive meeting with Ms. MaryKay L. Carlson, Charge d’Affaires, US Embassy, New Delhi on 4^th November, 2017.

We have organized some very memorable meetings with political and public sections. We had the honour of hosting Hon’ble Dr. C. Rangarajan, Governor, R.B.I. as Chief Guest. Thereafter Mr. Jagdish Capoor, Deputy Governor, R.B.I. also addressed the Chamber. Besides this, Chamber has been interacting with senior central, state and local government officials. Chamber also organizes interactive meetings with senior economists and eminent thinkers from time to time. Mr. Rajiv Kumar, Economic think tank and renowned journalist Mr. M.J. Akbar have addressed the Chamber. Information Commissioner, Government of India, New Delhi Mr. O.P. Kejriwal was the keynote speaker regarding Right to Information Act.
