Chairman, IACC
Tamil Nadu
I am deeply honoured to take up the role of Chairperson of the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (Tamil Nadu Branch) for the year 2025-26. I extend my deepest gratitude to you for your unwavering trust and unstinted support, which have led to immense growth of the Chamber, and am keen to take this great legacy forward in the coming year.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the immediate past Chairman, Mr Shamil Bicha for his dynamic leadership and vision in fostering strong collaboration to support the strengthening of Indo-US trade relations. Tamil Nadu has long been a vital hub in this relationship, with industries such as manufacturing and automotive, information technology (IT) & IT-enabled services, textiles, renewable energy and power, and electronics and hardware, playing a pivotal role in driving bilateral trade. Together, these industries not only contribute to economic growth but also embody the spirit of innovation and partnership that defines Indo-US trade. Further to the recent investments being reported, we also see Electric Vehicles (EVs), Battery & Clean Energy, Electronics, mobile component manufacture & semiconductors, Industrial park expansion, and Global Capability Centres (GCCs) gaining ground in terms of fueling the next phase of Indo-US trade expansion.
I would also like to acknowledge the immense contributions of our members, whose efforts and leadership have been instrumental in shaping these achievements. As we look ahead, I appeal to all the members to continue this momentum by actively engaging in our initiatives, particularly in facilitating stronger connections with US trade delegations and fostering meaningful partnerships with the Indian industry.
Over the last many years, we have been witnessing a thriving business ecosystem in Tamil Nadu, and the Chamber is here to support you through our focus on MSME growth opportunities, ease of doing business, strengthening relationships for bilateral trade enhancement, policy advocacy, and regulatory challenges as you expand your footprint in the region.
Once again, thank you all for your continued support, and I look forward to meeting and interacting with each one of you in the coming weeks.
