The Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) Aerospace & Defense (A&D) Forum was a supporting partner for the“Aerospace Meet”. Organized by the AMT- the Association for Manufacturing Technology, this event was held on Monday, 19th January, 2015 at Sheraton Hotel, Bangalore.
AMT- The Association for Manufacturing Technology is a US based trade association founded in 1902. Presently, the association is having a strength of over 500 US based member companies. These companies are pioneers in their respective fields and are actively involved in manufacturing state of art general purpose machine tools, special purpose machines, Industrial automation equipment, cutting tools, work-holding equipment, manufacturing software, etc. AMT also organizes and sponsor the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) held in Chicago, every even numbered year. In 2011, AMT established a Technology cum Demonstration Centre in Madras Export Processing Zone (MEPZ) in Tambaram, Chennai. The centre provides opportunities for our members to showcase their products in India. Our service support team located in the centre renders field service support for our members’ products all across India.

Mr. Munirathnam J, CEO of Javaji M Consulting Pvt Ltd welcomed the gathering and gave a brief introduction about IACC and its activities.
Mr. Arunakar Mishra, CEO & MD, Genser Aerospace Pvt. Ltd delivered a speech on "Manufacturing Industry Trends and Challenges in Indian Aerospace Industry”. He has highlighted the challenges faced in Aerospace Industry supply chain and has given good number of case studies. This has brought in lots of clarity for the AMT delegates and Indian Industry leaders who were present about the Aerospace Supply Chain in India.
Mr. Ashok Saxena, ADS UK & Ex MD HAL BC delivered a presentation on “ Overview of the Make in India Program and its implications for Aerospace & Defense Industry" . He has given overall picture of the Indian aerospace industry and its manufacturing capabilities. He also highlighted the business potential for American industries who want to take part in this envisaged growth of A & D industry.
Mr. Vasanth Kini, Chairman, IACC’s A&D Forum gave insight into manufacturing opportunities for Aerospace Industries for AMT members. He has highlighted the growing potential for aerospace business in India. He has also briefed the guests about the events and initiatives organized by IACC’s A&D Forum.
Finally Mr. Knox Johnstone Director, AMT USA summed up the discussions of the event and presented to the delegates. Q&A session was held and members had lots of discussions around Defense offset policies.
