Govt. of Tamil Nadu is engaged for a partnership dialogue with Massachusetts State delegates towards sharing of best practices in clean energy, climate change adaptation policy development, renewable energy, storage technology innovation, advanced energy efficiency building construction, zero emission vehicle deployment etc.

Keeping this background, we are pleased to invite you for an Industry roundtable with the visiting delegation to unlock opportunities for business to business and business to government collaboration between the energy stakeholders of Tamil Nadu and Massachusetts.

Massachusetts’ State Energy profile

Massachusetts’ electricity mix is dominated by natural gas, which made up 67.2 percent of its electricity generation as of 2018 as compared to 15.9 percent for nuclear, 4.6 percent for solar, 2.4 % for hydropower and 1.7% for petroleum-based sources.  Though the state has a relatively large GDP and population, it ranks among the lowest ten states in energy consumption due to its energy efficiency programs.  The state is also ranked seven in the nation in net electricity generation from Solar PV.
