As part of our knowledge series, Indo-American Chamber of Commerce invites you for a special session on the topic ‘Roles, Responsibilities and Liabilities of Directors’ on February 6, 2019. There will be a networking breakfast at 0830 hrs and the session will be between 0900 hrs and 1100 hrs at IACC Conference Hall, No 38/4 SPL Sriram Nivas, Venkatakrishna Road, 1st Floor, Mandaveli, Chennai – 600 028.
This session organized in partnership with Institute of Directors (IOD), will shed light on the emerging challenges for the Directors and the precautionary measures an individual must take before accepting to become an Independent Director. It will highlight the roles and responsibilities of both the Whole time Directors and the Independent Directors and more importantly the Independent Directors, who could play an effective role in ensuring best Corporate Governance practices by taking into account the interest of all the critical stakeholders of an organization.
This session will set the context before venturing in to other critical topics concerning the Board like the Compliances under the new Companies Act, IBC, Cyber Security, Internal Audit, Risk Management, Corporate Frauds, Financial Literacy for Directors and Driving Financial Performance.
Guest Speaker:
Mr. M S. Sundara Rajan, Chairman, Executive Committee, IOD – Chennai Region and Former Chairman and Managing Director, Indian Bank will deliver the address and interact with the participants. Mr. Rajan was part of several key strategic initiatives at Indian Bank including launching of initial IPO, introduction of Biometric ATMs and launching of touch screen kiosk across various Indian Bank branches in India.
