Objective of the Session: The global logistics industry is characterized by high costs of operations, low margins, shortage of talent, infrastructural bottlenecks, demand from clients for investing in technology and providing one-stop solutions to all their needs, and consolidation through acquisitions, mergers and alliances. At the firm level, the logistics focus is moving towards reducing cycle times in order to add value to their customers. Consequently, better tools and strategies are being sought by firms in order to enhance their decision making. Whether it’s consolidating parts, or small equipment with giant machines, the better they do at reducing cube and overall volume through innovative packing techniques, the more money they will save their clients in shipping costs. It is imperative that exporters understand these challenges and be fully prepared, so this session is a must for anyone wanting to export to the US.
