“I am truly honored to be selected for this award,” said Ganguly, in a statement released by the San Francisco VA
Medical Center. “I have worked with a lot of great clinicians and scientists over the past decade. I owe much of my
success to them. I would especially like to acknowledge Jose Carmena and Gary Abrams. Both the San Francisco VA
Medical Center and UCSF have been tremendously supportive of our multidisciplinary research efforts. I would also like
to thank my parents for their sacrifices when moving to this country.”
Singh works with the University of Texas’ Health Science Center at Houston, as well as the Memorial Hermann Texas
Medical Center. He is a general internist and a patient safety researcher at Center for Innovations in Quality,
Effectiveness and Safety based at the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and is the Director of the
Houston VA Patient Safety Center of Inquiry. He earned his medical degree at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences
in New Delhi.

America’s Delicious Dishes Delight Delhi-ites
The United States’ rich heritage of cuisine was displayed today at the ITC Maurya West View restaurant with Mr. Allan
Mustard, Minister Counselor for Agricultural Affairs at the U.S. Embassy, New Delhi, inaugurating a food festival that
showcases the best dishes America has to offer.
Speaking to guests at the event, Mr. Mustard said, "We’re proud of the high quality of American food products, and
we’re happy to be able to bring more of America’s delicious, healthy food options to Indian consumers.” He also said,
“This is the first American cuisine festival our Embassy has supported with a hotel chain and I hope that customers will
take some time out to dine at ITC Maurya’s West View restaurant and enjoy a range of American delicacies.”
This festival will continue at ITC Maurya’s West View restaurant until July 5, 2014. It is sponsored by the U.S. Embassy in
New Delhi, ITC Maurya Hotel, and leading U.S. food industry groups such as the Almond Board of California, the
American Pistachio Growers, the California Prune Board, the California Walnut Board, the Virginia’s Finest, the
Washington Apple Commission, and the USA Dry Pea and Lentil Council.
