- The Kings of Queens Curtain Raiser – International Women’s Day Women’s
Empowerment and Leadership is not just an issue for women , but also for all senior
leaders in an increasingly flat , globalized economy . The Women’s Business
Council (WBC) of the Indo American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) is dedicated
to this initiative. However, this year its time to step back, look within , evaluate
and take a slightly different perspective. One is that women’s
leadership and empowerment has come this far , and we as women are strongly conscious
of our past , deeply appreciative of the present , but overwhelmingly committed
to an even more sustainable and bright future for our sisters and daughters. We
have come a long way , all of us, and we have a long way to go. Second,
that without the support, partnership and sponsorship of men , particularly
male leaders in the big corporates , government and realm of policy , as well
as those in our own families , this would have been a distant dream. So this year
is about celebrating our biggest allies and partners – the men in our lives .
And celebrating our theme not only for this year, but for the future – PARTNERSHIP. So
this time the WBC stage will showcase an all male panel - the men who believe
in us, and have helped us come this far . Men who have championed our cause ,
welcomed the richness that our differences have wrought in business, are proud
of us, and have sincerely represented and disseminated the need for gender parity
, diversity , women’s development at the work place. Men who have shown by personal
example , just why this focus is required, what is the issue at hand ,
why it must be continued , and as importantly , how it should be done. And that
is what they are going to share with us. Today , its certainly
time to celebrate women achievers everywhere . And celebrate the men who have
made much of it possible We have come a long way , all of us, and together,
we still have a long way to go. We invite four leaders to share
their experiences with us in an interactive session : - Mr. Vivek
Mansingh – Country Manager - Dell India
- Mr. R.K. Mishra – Winner,
