IACC-CAIL Legal Conference Plano, Texas (USA) April

January, 2008 Dear Members, As you are aware,
the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce has a Legal Affairs Committee headed by
Mr Lalit Bhasin, Advocate, Bhasin & Co. IACC had organized its first
Legal Conference on "Business in and Between India and the US: Legal and Regulatory
Framework" in New Delhi from 4th to 6th May 2007 in collaboration with The Center
for American and International Law (CAIL) and (American Law Institute / American
Bar Association (ALI-ABA), which was supported by The Society of Indian Law Firms.
We are happy to inform you that the second Conference is being organized
jointly by IACC and CAIL on 8th and 9th April 2008 in Plano, Texas (USA). There
will be a Welcome Reception in the evening of 7th April. A copy of the
programme is enclosed. May I invite you to join the IACC delegation
for the above Conference? A delegation fee of Rs.30,000/- is being charged
from each delegate to cover part of the expenses and travel cost of the Secretariat.
All other expenses such as boarding and lodging, visa costs, travel costs, etc.
will be borne by the participants themselves. CAIL is charging a participation
fee of $645 for participating in this Conference. However, this fee is waived
off for all IACC participants. From the US side, participants will include
lawyers (both private practitioners and those who are employed in-house by international
corporations) and business people. As we have to finalize the list of
speakers as well as hotel accommodation, I shall greatly appreciate if you could
kindly confirm your acceptance for joining the delegation and return the attached
Registration Form by Monday, the 28th January 2008 along with your cheque / Demand
Draft for a sum of Rs.30,000/- drawn in favour of 'Indo-American Chamber of Commerce'
payable at New Delhi. Also send two coloured prints of your passport size photographs.
We are requesting CAIL to book hotel accommodation for the Indian delegation.
All delegates will be requested to stay in the same hotel. Following
the IACC-CAIL Conference, the Section of Business Law of the American Bar Association
(ABA) is organizing its spring 2008 Meeting from 10th to 12th April 2008. About
600 to 1000 prominent business lawyers are expected to participate in this meeting.
This will provide a great opportunity to Indian lawyers for networking. ABA will
be charging separate registration fee, which is also to be borne by the participants.
You may like to participate in this programme also. For those who are
