Second IACC-CAIL Legal Conference
Plano, Texas (USA)
April 8-9, 2008

22nd January, 2008

Dear Members,

As you are aware, the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce has a Legal Affairs Committee headed by Mr Lalit Bhasin, Advocate, Bhasin & Co.

IACC had organized its first Legal Conference on "Business in and Between India and the US: Legal and Regulatory Framework" in New Delhi from 4th to 6th May 2007 in collaboration with The Center for American and International Law (CAIL) and (American Law Institute / American Bar Association (ALI-ABA), which was supported by The Society of Indian Law Firms.

We are happy to inform you that the second Conference is being organized jointly by IACC and CAIL on 8th and 9th April 2008 in Plano, Texas (USA). There will be a Welcome Reception in the evening of 7th April.

A copy of the programme is enclosed.

May I invite you to join the IACC delegation for the above Conference?

A delegation fee of Rs.30,000/- is being charged from each delegate to cover part of the expenses and travel cost of the Secretariat. All other expenses such as boarding and lodging, visa costs, travel costs, etc. will be borne by the participants themselves.

CAIL is charging a participation fee of $645 for participating in this Conference. However, this fee is waived off for all IACC participants.

From the US side, participants will include lawyers (both private practitioners and those who are employed in-house by international corporations) and business people.

As we have to finalize the list of speakers as well as hotel accommodation, I shall greatly appreciate if you could kindly confirm your acceptance for joining the delegation and return the attached Registration Form by Monday, the 28th January 2008 along with your cheque / Demand Draft for a sum of Rs.30,000/- drawn in favour of 'Indo-American Chamber of Commerce' payable at New Delhi. Also send two coloured prints of your passport size photographs.

We are requesting CAIL to book hotel accommodation for the Indian delegation. All delegates will be requested to stay in the same hotel.

Following the IACC-CAIL Conference, the Section of Business Law of the American Bar Association (ABA) is organizing its spring 2008 Meeting from 10th to 12th April 2008. About 600 to 1000 prominent business lawyers are expected to participate in this meeting. This will provide a great opportunity to Indian lawyers for networking. ABA will be charging separate registration fee, which is also to be borne by the participants.

You may like to participate in this programme also. For those who are interested, the complete details about this event, such as programme, topics to be discussed, registration fee, etc. are available on the following website.
